My work begins with observation and feeling rather than a plan: the shifting light on a tide, the hidden flow of a stream, the layered canopy of a forest, or the radiance of petals at noon. I don’t paint literal landscapes; instead, I distill impressions of movement, texture, colour, and form into abstract compositions.

I work intuitively with acrylics, inks, and pens, building rich, layered surfaces. My process starts with broad washes of colour to establish mood, then moves through alternating opaque passages and translucent glazes. I balance improvisation with intention — letting accidental drips and ink blooms suggest forms (my happy accidents), then refining those ideas with deliberate mark-making.

Layering functions both visually and conceptually. Each layer acts like a record of time, adding to the piece’s history. The visible interplay between underpainting and surface marks invites viewers to read that history: acrylics for body and colour, inks for fluidity, and pens for precision.
